Happy Birthday To Me

Photobucket

Well, I'm at ,y little sister's place. Her two kids want to give me a birthday party and I could not let them down. In fact I am on my little sister's Apple making this post. For the record I am 39 years ooold today. I did get lucky today My rapier blade came in before I set out to my sister's place. Before I can take it on the field I have to get a safety tip for it. That is so I don't gut someone out. That would be a bad thing. In fact we have a saying that goes "We are here to kill our friends not to hurt them" In fact with out the safety tip I can punch the blade through 1/4 plywood with just a little effort. The cool thing is that there is something called a bird blunt for arrows that is the same thing as the safety tip for the rapier but cost about $10 for a pack of 4 while the safety tips for the rapiers cost about $7 a pop.

The only difference between this blade and a live steel rapier is that this blade does not have a sharp edge or fine point on it. It allows a person to train and get the feel for the use of the weapon with little danger to the people training with the weapon. In time I hope to post images of me fighting,

In other good news Amber and I talking with each other once again, Even through she is my Ex-wife is nice to be on good terms with her. All in all she is a good person, and I am not always the person I should be. I am looking forward to long and good friendship with her. Also cordial and conjugal have to different meanings :-)

Now on to something to think about:

Art or not art? Let me know what you think.

Well, my Rabbit cat died tonight about 10:00 P.M. He had liver cancer. His Vet Doctor Green had given me the stuff to keep him out of pain to he shut his eyes for the last time. I have just gotten back from laying him to rest under an oak tree.

I have been busy, I am still around have not had alot of time to post.

Something to think about

The is a magazine called 2600. It is a hacker magazine before you get up in arms you need to get a copy. It comes out quarterly, in this issue there are a few real good articles that tell you how to better to protect you computer. There is an article titled The State Of Cyberspace and Cyberwar. The point of the article is that bots can take over your computer network making every computer do things remotely with out the users knowing a thing. The article also talks about the government using bot to do covert things to other countries or even spy on people in the U.S.A. This article does make a a lot of real good points about the use of bots both by black hat hackers and the government. What one does wonder how much does the government use these bots to spy on all of us. As everyone with a computer should know is that google stores everything you do in their search engine and from time to time turns all the information over to the government, thank you Bill Clinton. It should be noted that George Bush did nothing to stop this reporting of your privet life to the government. Then we had 911 and things went to hell and is not going to come back any time soon. Then you take in to account the verdict on the whole Microsoft court case. It makes you wonder what 11th hour deal was made with the U.S. Government and Microsoft made. Yes, I know you are shaking your head and saying the Microsoft was found guilty and paid some really heavy fines. You need to look at how much more the government could have done to Microsoft, and the amount of money that the Microsoft makes. So if you are running windows or even a mac you may be send good old Uncle Sam each and everything that you are doing online. For me that is not a big deal, looking over my google search information the government will find a bunch of porn as well as stuff that I random type in to mess with any one looking at it. Then again maybe it is not as bad as it sounds but all it takes is one bad leader to make Orwell come true.

Hate Crimes Rhode Island

O.K. I have been watching CNN and they just ran a story about a Latino teen was killed in Rhode Island. He was killed by 7 other teens, 3 of which were white, 2 Latino, One ½ Black/Latino and one Black. Before I go further I need to state for the record that all seven of these teens need to be strapped down and given the needle. Yes I think that all seven of them should be executed for what they did. The not so great state of Rhode Island does not see it that way. The way they see it is that the 3 white teens committed a hate crime while the other 4 teens committed simple assault. Keeping in mind that all seven teens took turns stabbing, kicking and spitting on the teen they killed but only the white kids are going to be held to the hate crime law while the other 4 get a slap on the hand. In the words of the Rhode Island Attorney General Patrick C. Lynch “Minorities do not committee hate crimes.” as a justification for only charging the white teens under the hate crime laws. So in Rhode Island if you are not white you can kill people and nothing will happen to you, as long as you have a white boy to blame it on. The thing that eats me up on this whole thing is that if the 4 non-white teens get the max under the simple assault law they will not even come close to the minimum that the 3 white kids will get under the hate crimes law. If you are going after any of the kids you need to go after all seven of them with the same laws. It looks like to me that Patrick C. Lynch is using human life to make himself look good. In a side note to this story the family of the Latino teen that was killed is only taking the white kids to court under the civil laws of Rhode Island, stating that the other teens do not have the money to it worth taking to court. So that is what America has become.

Heinlein more then ever

I have been rereading a few of the great Sci/fi books by Robert A. Heinlein and I thought I would share this food for thought. A few quotes from some of the really great novels. This is something to really think about if you go back and look what has been going on in America for the last 20+ years.

What are the marks of a sick culture?

It is a bad sign when the people of a country stop identifying themselves with the country and start identifying with a group. A racial group. Or a religion. Or a language. Anything, as long as it isn’t the whole population.

A very bad sign. Particularism. It was once considered a Spanish vice but any country can fall sick with it. Dominance of males over females seems to be one of the symptoms.

Before a revolution can take place, the population must lose faith in both the police and the courts.

High taxation is important and so is inflation of the currency and the ratio of the productive to those on the public payroll. But that’s old hat; everybody knows that a country is on the skids when its income and outgo get out of balance and stay that way - even though there are always endless attempts to wish it way by legislation. But I started looking for little signs and what some call silly-season symptoms.

I want to mention one of the obvious symptoms: Violence. Muggings. Sniping. Arson. Bombing. Terrorism of any sort. Riots of course - but I suspect that little incidents of violence, pecking way at people day after day, damage a culture even more than riots that flare up and then die down. Oh, conscription and slavery and arbitrary compulsion of all sorts and imprisonment without bail and without speedy trial - but those things are obvious; all the histories list them.

I think you have missed the most alarming symptom of all. This one I shall tell you. But go back and search for it. Examine it. Sick cultures show a complex of symptoms as you have named… But a dying culture invariably exhibits personal rudeness. Bad manners. Lack of consideration for others in minor matters. A loss of politeness, of gentle manners, is more significant than a riot.

This symptom is especially serious in that an individual displaying it never thinks of it as a sign of ill health but as proof of his/her strength. Look for it. Study it. It is too late to save this culture - this worldwide culture, not just the freak show here in California. Therefore we must now prepare the monasteries for the coming Dark Age. Electronic records are too fragile; we must again have books, of stable inks and resistant paper.

Take sex away from people. Make it forbidden, evil. Limit it to ritualistic breeding. Force it to back up into suppressed sadism. Then hand the people a scapegoat to hate. Let them kill a scapegoat occasionally for cathartic release. The mechanism is ages old. Tyrants used it centuries before the word ‘psychology’ was ever invented. It works, too.
(Revolt in 2100, 1953)

When any government, or any church for that matter, undertakes to say to its subjects, “This you may not read, this you must not see, this you are forbidden to know,” the end result is tyranny and oppression, no matter how holy the motives. Mighty little force is needed to control a man whose mind has been hoodwinked; contrariwise, no amount of force can control a free man, a man whose mind is free. No, not the rack, not fission bombs, not anything—you can’t conquer a free man; the most you can do is kill him.
(Revolt in 2100, 1953)

Government! Three-fourths parasitic and the rest stupid fumbling- Oh, Harshaw conceded that man, a social animal, could no more avoid government than an individual could escape the necessity of bowel movements. But simply because an evil was necessary was no reason to term it good. He wished that government would wander off and get lost!
(Stranger in a Strange Land 1961)

Also I found this while wondering around the net, I figured that If we start now that we can get the word out by 2012

Pretty good Month

Well November has been a kinda cool month for me, except for the whole Barack Obama thing; it has been in whole a good month. Deer season started on the first here it just happened that the first fell on the first Saturday of the month. My friend Doyle went out to his father place and on the first morning I saw 12 deer none of which were legal to shoot. On the first afternoon I saw 5 more all of them except one were does and one little 4 point. He was not big enough to make a good sandwich. The next morning I saw a nice 6 point that I took a shot at, but I shot high, it was only at about 30 yards and my rifle had been zeroed at 100 and the bullet went just over it's back and it ran off. That afternoon I saw a few does as well as a buck that needs to be taken out of the heard but is not legal to shot. It has a normal fork on one side, on the other side it has what we call a crab claw. The two points are big enough to be counted by the law, with the spread of the horns being under 13 inches it is not legal. This buck will only bread defective offspring. He himself is not sick or weak, but do to the horn growth most if not of his offspring will have defects that may lead to early death or the spreading of illness in to the heard.

Last weekend my friend Jarrod went to a coin operators auction in Dallas. We picked up two dollar changers that had the bill changer that will read the newer bills. Jarrod paid $600 for both of them and each of the bill changers are worth $800. So for $600 Jarrod picked up $1600 worth of equipment. A savings of $1000

I have also perfected my jalapeño bread. It is real good, a bit on the hot side but not real bad. I have found that using fresh jalapeños makes for a better bread. The way that I make it is:

1 cup of white flour.
1 cup of wheat flour.
½ cups of chopped fresh jalapeños.
½ soy flour
1 ounce of milk warmed to room temperature.
1 large egg.
4 table spoons of whole wheat gluten.
½ ounce of dry yeast.
¾ cup of coffee cooled down to room temperature.

Mix all of the dry ingredients I start with the the different flours I fold the flours together after all of the flours have been folded together I then add the gluten and the jalapeños folding them in as I add then. After that I add the dry yeast. Once all of that has been folded in I make a whole in the middle all the way to the bottom of the bowel then I add the milk, egg, then coffee. Using my hands I blend everything in the bowel to a get a nice bowel of dough. Then I move the dough to a cutting board that has been dusted to with flour. Then I kneed the dough for about 30 minutes then place in under a damp cloth and let it rise for 45 minutes. Then I beat down the dough and kneed for about 5 minutes then I place it in to a bread pan and let rise for about an hour or once the the bread has risen about ¼ inch above the top of the pan. Place in to oven for 40 minutes @ 350 degrees. Makes for good stuff.

So that is pretty much how my November is going so far.
